How To Measure Your Bra Size At Home

Wearing a bra is optional and this choice can change day to day depending on what you find most comfortable
Measuring your bra size at home is easy, all you need is a soft measuring tape.
Bra sizes sound a lot more complex than they are. The number, eg 36, represents the strap going around your rib cage and the letter, eg C, represents the cup size / chest volume.
To measure at home grab your soft measuring tape (important as you can hurt yourself using a hard one and it will be less accurate) and follow these steps:
Step 1: Measure your band size (underbust)
- Stand straight and breathe out normally.
- Wrap the soft measuring tape snug around your ribcage, directly under your breasts.
- Make sure the tape is level all the way around.
- Note the measurement in inches.
If the number is even, that’s your band size.
If it’s odd, round up to the nearest even number. Eg, 33 inches → band size = 34
Step 2: Measure your bust size
- Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your breasts (usually across the nipples).
- Keep the tape comfortably loose, not tight.
- Make sure it’s straight across your back.
- Write down the measurement.
Step 3: Calculate your cup size
- Subtract your band measurement from your bust measurement.
- The difference determines your cup size.
Cup size chart (in inches)
- 1″ = A
- 2″ = B
- 3″ = C
- 4″ = D
- 5″ = DD / E
- 6″ = DDD / F
- 7″ = G
Example:
Bust = 36″
Band = 32″
Difference = 4″ → D cup
So your bra size would be 34D.
Step 4: Try them on and experiment with "sister sizes"
Once you've identified a size, its best to try it on. Bra sizes are not an exact science instead its based on comfort, so you may decide to go up or down a size or experiment with sister sizes to find which are most comfortable for you.
Sister sizes: Sister sizes are different bra sizes with the same cup volume, meaning you go up a band size and down a cup size (or vice versa) to get a similar fit, for example, 32D = 34C = 36B, and 30DD = 32D = 34C.
So experiment! try them on and if you decide they're not for you thats okay too, we hope this helps find what's most comfortable for you!
